Photoblog

Hello dear readers. I've recently set up my cellcam such that it'll upload straight to my photo gallery and post an entry to my blog. I've so far heard one negative comment on this and one neutral one. What do you think?

The options I've considered are:

  1. Leave it as-is, posting a set of 320x240 occasionally.
  2. Smaller thumbnails, leave as-is.
  3. Post one image from a set as a "teaser" and put all inline in the comments page.
  4. Post a link to the comments page (and/or the images) in the "summary".
  5. ...

Please leave me your compliments, suggestions, flames, etc. I want to be able to share these things with people, but I don't want to annoy my audience in such a way that they get up and leave. Tell me, dear readers, what you want to see.

Well, I got that much from your previous comment. Care to provide some actual content as to why? I'm a very curious fellow.

*I* have no issue with A. i'm probably alone but i'll just say i don't mind what you're doing now. they aren't taking long to load and they aren't super wide.

if it was posting something like 20 pictures at a time... then i would a bit more interested in option C. but if it's never more than five or six, i dont find that to be a problem.

i like b mostly, or c... thumbnails are good things, but i don't even really have a problem with putting them up regularly because i don't have that many people on my friends list anyhow, but i sometimes i am on a paaainfully slow connection.

someday, when i move out of the freakin midwest (or at least to somplace different) and get a new cell- unless of course my current one breaks first, i'm going to get one that takes pictures... how well does yours work? do you have to wait for it to focus or is there a big delay in it actually taking the picture? what're the pixel dimensions?

Yeah, I've come across the same problem - when I'm browsing my own site (or LJ friends page) on my cell. Nice and slow, it is.

The camera on the phone is fixed-focus (it's a bloody phone. The less moving parts the better) from about 3cm to infinity. It's got a decent response time, but without lots of light, the image is pretty bad. The main things I like about the camera being on my phone is that a) it's always on me b) I can upload straight to my server with it.

I'll see what I can do about making smaller thumbnails.

Your nickname sounds familiar. Do I know you from somewhere?
