The barrier is crumbling...

Mink Rose said:
I keep on drawing myself back into the internet, into its warm folds and snuggles of people caring and exchanging energy and voices and laughter. I wish to be a part of this flowing mass all the time because I feel such a lack of real connection in those near me. I more than anything wish for someone nearby to connect into on a daily level...

So, I know, broken record, but--

Easy answer, get the f*ck out of the city. Complete shift in paradigm. In the city, if you look directly at someone you're passing down the street, they think you're creepy or being standoffish. In the country or woods, if you don't look right at them and smile/wave/talk a bit, they think you're creepy and shifty. Again, broken record, but on the Trail, I had the most amazing connections and conversations with people I randomly passed. We'd stop, talk for a good while, then move on. If we were going to the way, we shifted to hike together a good bit. And the conversations (although not the schedule shifting) is true whether doing the Trail, or just going for day hikes long from it.

But the internet is so . . . dry and emotionless (don't hate me!)
